Touching Lives
The Ridge Casino aims to uplift and enrich the community in which we live. Through our various initiatives we endeavor to make a difference in the lives of those who really need it.
We have selected to address the area which we believe will make a significant impact on the daily lives of individuals. The contribution we make will ensure that our involvement is sustainable.

December 2009
 |
The Ridge made Christmas one to remember when staff handed food hampers to 35 less privileged elderly people in Schoongesicht.
|
 |
During December most of the Middelburg Care Village children are placed out for the holidays, The Ridge was still able to make the December holiday a memorable one for Lee-Ann Victory.
The Ridge paid for a 10 day holiday at the Natal coast, the ideal holiday for a matric pupil.
We are proud to inform you that Lee-Ann passed her matric proving that The Ridge scholarship program is worth the effort. |
January 2010
 |
The Ridge is proud to announce that we enrolled our first Middelburg Care Village scholarship pupil for tertiary tuition at the MRTT Hotel School in Nelspruit.
Lee-Ann will be attending a one year professional chef’s course.
This is part of The Ridge Casino and Tsogo Sun SED action plan.
Back to school for the rest of the Middelburg Care Village was an exciting event as each child received new school clothing and stationery from The Ridge Casino. |

February 2010
 |
The month of love and there is no better way to show love than to give to the needy. The Ridge again visited the elderly people in Schoongesicht and handed each one a Valentines hamper.
The Ridge continues with our monthly visits to the Middelburg Care Village, handing each child their own hygiene pack for the month and the children that had a birthday in January and February each received a gift to the value of R50.00
The Ridge staff paid a visit to the Be Free Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital. The staff was allowed to enter The Ridge Flight Cage that we sponsored in 2009 and the staff had fun with the petting farm animals. |

“You give a little of yourself if you give of your assets. It is when you give yourself that you truly give.”
Kahill Gibran
While there are many other charity organizations that The Ridge supports through minor initiatives, the focus of our events and projects will be on the following organization:
The Middelburg Care Village:
Based in Middelburg, this centre is for abandoned and abused children - some also of whom have been affected or infected by HIV / AIDS. The age of the children ranges from 4 to 16 years. The Care Village has 7 houses and The Ridge has adopted all the houses. There are currently 90 children in the Care Village.
The Ridge works towards a brighter future.
The world today is full of gadgets and technical know how, and it has come to the point where one can almost not operate without all these technical devices. One fundamental tool is a computer.
The Ridge Casino & Entertainment Resort has embarked on a program to ensure selected children at the Middleburg Care Village are more than capable on a computer to better their career opportunities. The Ridge's IT department installed a computer and are visiting them on a weekly basis to guide them on basic operations as well as the technical components of a computer. One child has been given her own personal computer and The Ridge will continue to give personal computers to the "shining stars". Through this we not only supply them with basic tools, but afford them the opportunity to continuously grow.
Other worthy causes:
The CSI department of The Ridge Casino receives a large number of requests from the local community. Although all of them are deserving projects, The Ridge can only support a few requests.
