Get revved – it’s time for The Ridge Casino’s Annual Car Sound Show
The Ridge Casino is gearing up for its 2nd annual Car Sound Show on Saturday the 4th of May. With more entertainment for the whole family, louder sound, bigger engines, and entries from in and out of town, this year’s car show is set to be the biggest yet.
Car enthusiasts can enter their cars or just pop by to see and hear some of the entries, and join in the fun and excitement of this family-friendly event. This year’s Sound competition will be run and sanctioned by DB DRAGS, a South African Car Sound Competition Body. “Last year we had a record number of entries and thousands of people came down to enjoy the day. This year, we are expecting convoys from Pretoria, Johannesburg, Ladysmith, Dundee, Newcastle and Ermelo, with pimped up cars and unbelievable sound systems that are sure to get everyone’s heart pumping,” says the casino’s Marketing Manager, Thapelo Modise.
The car show, taking place at The Ridge Events Park, kicks off at 10am and will continue throughout the day until 7pm. The prize giving will take place at 8pm. The entrance fee is R40 per adult and R20 per child under the age of 13. Platinum and Gold Club Festival members don’t pay a cent. Free entry for Platinum member plus 2 friends and free entryfor Gold members plus 1 friend. The joys of being a Club Festival member.
Entertainment during the day includes spinning by The Max My Ride Stunt Masters and 360 Boyz, Live Djs, Car Sound Competition, Show n Shine and entertainment for the kids such as jumping castles and face painters, and a market with stalls featuring a wide array of products. Food and drinks will also be on sale.
According to Modise, the casino has also arranged a massive after party with a line-up of fantastic entertainment. The after party is in the marquee at The Ridge Events Park. No under 18s will be allowed and entrance is R50 per person before 23h00 and R80 per person after 23h00.
The Competition is open to everyone with a suped-up car and awesome sound. The categories include:

Vehicle owners pay R150 per car, per category they enter. Registration and entry fees will be administered on the day – there is no need to enter or pay beforehand. There are awesome trophies to be won in each category.
Running in tandem to the car show is a website competition where an awesome KICKER Audio System worth R8 000 is up for grabs. People can enter the competition free through The Ridge Casino’s website www.theridge.co.za before the 25th of April, or enter on the day of the car show at R20 per ticket. All entries will be entered into the draw which will take place during the prize giving.

She concludes saying that the 2013 Ridge Casino Car Show promises non-stop fun, action and excitement.
