Take a brisk walk to help an ill child Reach for a Dream
Runners and walkers can help uplift the lives of children with life-threatening diseases and special needs by signing up for the Reach for a Dream Challenge taking place at The Ridge Events Park on Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th of October 2011.
All proceeds raised through entry fees and sponsorships will be donated to the Reach for a Dream Foundation and the Elkana Educational Centre for children with extraordinary needs. The challenge, produced by Coal Dust Road Runners and hosted at The Ridge takes the form of an overnight relay. People can choose to run or walk their laps and each participant is required to complete just one lap. So, the challenge is open to everyone regardless of their fitness levels.
“You do not have to be a long distance road runner or super fit to be part of this extremely worthwhile and fun challenge. All you need is a pair of walking shoes and the determination to get through just one lap. By participating in this relay, you can make a meaningful contribution to improving the outlook and quality of life of children who are suffering from life threatening illnesses and other life-inhibiting conditions,” says The Ridge General Manager, Maureen Kivits.
