ENTRY Mechanics

Participants must buy-in for R50 via the tournament registration desk to take part

Participants who have bought in will then play in the preliminary/qualifying rounds on the designated Roulette tournament table

The Top 32 scores from the participants will be recorded and displayed on the leader board

If a single participant appears more than once on the Top 32 leader board, they will have to nominate a proxy/s to play for the additional spots during the final

Top 32 individual scores over the 5 day play period will play in the final knockout stages

Random selection will be done to determine the heat that each player will participate in and the “face-off” pairing of players will be done in similar fashion.

Preliminary/QUALIFYING rounds – top 32 leader board play – Monday to Friday

Buy-in to participate in the roulette tournament is open to all (Rewards cardholders and non-members provided that they enrol to the Rewards Programme)

Entry to participate is at R50 payable at the tournament registration desk

Each player will receive 60 pieces of colour to play 3 spins, to achieve a score to appear on the leader board (32 positions)

The top 32 point leaders will be selected to play in the finals

 

KNOCKOUT ROUNDS OF 32 players

Knockout rounds of 32 players will consist of 16 heats.

Each heat will consist of 2 players competing against one another on a single tournament table. Two tournament tables will be available and players will get to play simultaneously. Meaning 2 players competing at each roulette tournament tables.

Each player will receive 5 stacks of colour (100 pieces) and will be given 3 spins per heat. Each colour chip will have a value of R50 and R50 Roulette Table maximums will apply.

Before each spin, players will be given 45 seconds to place bets. Once the 45 seconds runs out, no more bets will be accepted and the dealer will spin. All the 5 stacks of colour (100 pieces) must be played during the 3 spins.

At the end of the 3 spins, each player’s chips will be counted and the individual/s with the highest chip value (heat winner/s) will advance on to the next knockout stage.

Players are to place all their chips (100 pieces) provided, during the allocated number of spins, remaining chips will not be counted as part of the score total. Only the winnings will be counted to determine the score for the leader board.

Players may place a multiplier Chip on any number that they choose provided that they have placed chips on the number already and that the multiplier (bet) does not exceed the R50 Table maximum. Should the number with the multiple Chip win, the player’s win will be multiplied by 2. This option may only be used once per player, per round.

In the event of a tie, each player will be issued with 2 stacks of colour (40 pieces) and will be given 1 spin. If the tie persists, the same process will ensue until there is a winner. The multiplier will not apply in a tie breaker round (therefore multiplier cannot be used).

A 45 seconds countdown timer will commence directly after the last payout is completed, if any.

The 16 heat winners will advance on to the next round.

 

KNOCKOUT ROUNDS OF 16 players

Each heat will consist of 2 players competing against one another on a single tournament table.

The Quarter final will have 8 players and will consist of 4 heats.

Should the number with the multiple Chip win, the player’s win will be multiplied by 2. This option may only be used once per player, per round.

WHAT CAN I WIN

 

1st Prize =  R1000 + 50% of cash buy-ins

2nd Prize = R300 + 30% of cash buy-ins

3rd Prize = R100 + 10% of cash buy-ins

4th Prize = R100 + 10% of cash buy-ins

  

The progressive jackpot will start from R1500 Cash every week
  1. Only persons over the age of 18 may participate. Any person who is currently refused entry to the casino or who is self-excluded prior to or during the tournament may not participate and will be disqualified.
  2. There will be a R50 buy-in for participation in the tournament.
  3. This tournament is open to The Ridge Rewards cardholders and New sign-ups to the Rewards Programme
  4. Tournament finalists will be invited via telephone communication (SMS or Call) using the information that is available on the Gaming Management System.
  5. Tournament participation will be based on highest scores earned in the preliminary/qualifying rounds during the promotion period.
  6. At the start of each heat or final, each player shall be provided with 100 tournament chips with a tournament value of R50 per colour chip giving a total of R5,000 in value.
  7. Normal R50 table limits apply, as displayed on the table.
  8. No call bets or announced bets are allowed. However all outside bets will be allowed within the R50 Table maximums
  9. No betting is allowed during the spin.
  10. At the end of the heat, quarter-final, semi-final or final, each player’s chip total will be recorded and this value will determine heat winners.
  11. Players must play every spin.
  12. A maximum of 45 seconds will be allowed for placing of bets. After 45 seconds, the Dealer will spin the ball and NO MORE bets will be accepted.
  13. Players are to place all their chips provided, during the number of allocated spins, remaining chips will not be counted as part of the score total. Only the winnings will be counted to determine the score for the leaderboard.
  14. Bets cannot be changed or altered outside of the allocated 45 second betting period.
  15. Each player shall keep their chips on the table in front of them at all times, and in clear view of the other players and the Supervisor.
  16. In the event that a player runs out of chips before the heat/quarter-final/semi-final is over, they must leave the tournament table.
  17. In the event of a tie, a spin-off will be used. An extra spin will be played and chips will be counted after one extra spin. The player with the highest chip total will progress.
  18. Scores will not be carried forward to the next stage of the tournament.
  19. All players’ competing on the same table with place bets simultaneously, commencing at the start of the 45 second countdown
  20. The marker button will move to the other player after every completed spin.
  21. Players play for themselves, monies may not be pooled or transferred to other players.
  22. Chip “winnings” from one tournament round will not be carried over to another tournament round. All chips must be returned to the respective table float at the end of each heat / round.
  23. The Master of Ceremonies, at the finals, will announce the start of each tournament round. Participants who are not present at the actual start of the respective tournament rounds will forfeit their seats.
  24. In the event that a participant cannot conclude on the day of the knockout competition, the allocated seat will be forfeited and may not be replaced by another participant.
  25. Designated and demarcated operational tables and/or tournament tables will be utilised for the tournament. Participants do not earn Rewards Programme points during tournament play.
  26. Participants’ chips are to be maintained in a visible manner on the table concerned at all times during the tournament.
  27. Participants will not be allowed to share chips or make additional buy-ins.
  28. Conversing with spectators will be cause for disqualification. Spectators who interfere with the game or provide assistance to the players will be cause for eviction. Players are not allowed to discuss strategies with other players, dealers or casino personnel. Players are not allowed to borrow, lend or give their tournament chips to another player.
  29. Whilst every reasonable effort will be taken to ensure the accurate recording of rankings/scores, the onus shall remain with participants to ensure that their rankings/scores are correct at all times. The casino reserves the right to make the necessary corrections as soon as it becomes aware of any founded discrepancies, which corrections could change the rankings/scores of participants and allocation of prizes.
  30. The Ridge Casino reserves the right to change or amend the tournament structure and/or prize package at any time.
  31. Tournament Director’s decision (or a Management Representative thereof) will be deemed as final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  32. All finalists are required to be present on the respective dates/times to be eligible to participate in the Knockout rounds. Finalists may nominate another person/proxy to attend or play the knockout rounds.
  33. Should a finalist name appear more than once on the Leaderboard, they will have to nominate a proxy to play on their behalf. The proxy will have sole control of their nominated round and may not be influenced in any way by the original seat holder.
  34. Finalists shall be required to present themselves on the day of the tournament and must produce a valid entry and positive and acceptable form of identification e.g. a South African I.D./South African Driver’s License/Passport or other official form of identification as approved by the casino and any other details as required, if not our GMS will be used to verify participants.
  35. A Finalist will forfeit their position or play on the day of the finals should they be absent or arrive after the cut off time. The casino shall take all reasonable steps to contact all participants via the contact details provided or otherwise readily available.
  36. Collectively the tournament prize money will be determined by the amount of buy-ins
  37. Cash Prizes are to be collected and signed for receipt thereof by the relevant Prize Winner (not representative), as the case may be, within 15 days from the date of the tournament finals from the casino where the prize(s) were won.
  38. Prizes are not transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless otherwise advertised. Prize winners must sign for receipt of prizes.
  39. The prize winner must claim the prize at the casino within 15 days from the date of the tournament finals.
  40. All decisions are final and binding and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into.
  41. Any person transgressing the rules of this tournament will be disqualified.
  42. Every participant in the tournament shall be deemed to have acknowledged and accepted the rules by virtue of their participation.
  43. The above clauses are severable from each other. Should any clause or part thereof be found to be unenforceable by operation of the law, such clause or part thereof will be severed, and the remaining clauses shall remain in force.

  45. In the event that there is a tie or a combined knockout, whereby all players have played all their chips an there is no winner, players will need to choose a card from a deck of cards and the player choosing the highest card will be declared the winner.
